PAUSE FOR BREATH

BUILD  CASTLES ON THE BEACH AT SANGATTE

This is a family activity that we invite you to enjoy throughout the year all along the white, sandy beaches of the Grand Site de France les Deux-Caps...in a swimsuit or a parka...come as you are!

Find out here soon David's tips for a successful experience

BUILD A SANDCASTLE

WHAT YOU NEED

-       A beautiful beach of fine sand,

-       Family and friends,

-       The right materials: bucket, spade and good humour;

A little advice on choosing the right spot for your sandcastle:

-       Choose an area that is quite flat and free of bumps.

-       Position your castle on an area where the sand is a little damp.

OUR ADVICE FOR THE BEST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE
---Do--- ---Don't---
  • Make sure that the tide is out (http://maree.info/);
  • In the summer season, the beaches of Wimereux, Ambleteuse,                  Wissant and Sangatte-Blériot have lifeguards.
  • Even here you need protection from the sun: caps and sun cream are de    rigueur.
  • Explore the beach to find shells, algae and other natural objects with         which to decorate your sandcastle
  • Don’t remove fossils from the cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez with which to            decorate your sandcastle!
  • Don’t leave any litter behind. Collect everything and dispose of it in the appropriate place.
  • If you build a sandcastle close to the dunes, remember that they are fragile... if you want to explore them, keep to the trails!
